BREYER Christmas Letter 2024

Dear business partners and friends of BREYER,

A year full of challenges is coming to an end.

Territorial claims by individual states, a stagnating global economy, climate catastrophes and an increasingly deliberate polarization of societies determine our everyday lives. Maximum confrontation for personal advantage seems to have become a model for everyday actions in business and daily coexistence.

Conflicts and different points of view are important and helpful; they can also help us move forward overall. The decisive factor, however, is the way we argue and deal with conflicts.

As a global society, we could probably “live better together” if we were acting in a less polarizing, less greedy, and less obstructive way and if we were instead more willing to change, more imaginative and more attuned and open-minded in conflict.

May the following story show us that, despite conflicting points of view, it is easier to find solutions by being open-minded than through unconditional confrontation:

The king promised his people that he would conquer the land of his enemies and destroy them. Then a rumour spread that the king had been seen sitting at a table with his enemies. There was an uproar among the people.

The people shouted: “You wanted to destroy our enemies!” The king spoke in a calm but firm voice: “I sat at a table with our enemies. I have talked and laughed with them. I have destroyed them by making them our friends!” The crowd fell silent and recognized the wisdom of their king.

In the past year, we were happy to have had a lot of positive experiences in the cooperation with our business partners and customers worldwide, for which we are very grateful.

We therefore want to sincerely thank you at the end of the year 2024 for the successful cooperation characterised by mutual trust and partnership. We would be delighted to continue having your trust next year, as well.

We wish you and your family a peaceful and blessed Christmas holiday season, and the tranquility and respite from which to draw strength for the tasks that 2025 will bring.
